‘Having known Rob Professionally for over eight years, it has always been a pleasure to benefit from high level coaching which has ensured a reduction in my handicap by 6 shots. Rob not only has an eye for the technical side of the game, his analysis and explanation of strategic course management in relation to ones standard, has proved to be most useful. I have recommended Rob to a number of friends and work associates, who I know have also gained significant development in their game. Rob has become a great friend and I now enjoy playing golf with someone of serious talent and may I say – humour!’ Mark Leetham (Handicap 12)..
'Being a complete novice to golf the 6 hours of tuition provided by Rob Glazier proved to be very useful especially with regard to the theoretical side of the game. Rob spent time and patience explaining and at times re-explaining each aspect of the golf game that was being covered. His approach encouraged participation and his humour made the whole experience incredibly enjoyable. We would have no hesitation in recommending Rob and the facilities of the Dartmouth Golf and Country Club in the future'. Ronnie and Pat Arthur.
'Thank you Rob for a most enjoyable time. I found your methods of teaching informative, achievable and sustainable and I can honestly say they have changed my game for the better. I feel that you pitched the classes at just the right level and duration for us and it was great to go straight out onto the course and practice. I was very impressed at the course content covering all aspects of the game (some of which I had never attached any importance to - but will in future), and my pitching and short game especially has improved out of all recognition. Mick and I came 3rd in a recent open competition scoring 43 stableford points and I have since played 3 shots lower than my handicap. Thank you also for the post course training material and guidance you sent which we both found very useful'. Susan Ford (Handicap 27)
'My wife and I had our first lessons with Rob as beginners, though I had previously played a little some years ago. Rob tailored the lessons to match our individual needs and was always able to relate his explanation to our experience and understanding, making it as simple or technical as we wished. We found him able to break down and explain each move in simple terms so that we could build up the stroke we needed. Rob is always positive, enthusiastic and above all encouraging, and lessons with him have been fun as well as instructive. Though we live too far away to stay at Dartmouth very frequently, we endeavour to fit in at least a couple of lessons with Rob on each visit. It is always a pleasure to consolidate what we know and move on to further improvement. A visit to Dartmouth with a lesson from Rob is one of the highlights of our golfing year'. Jon and Alison Jewitt.
My partner and I attended a weekend tuition break at Dartmouth this summer. This included unlimited use of the course, and six hours of tuition with Rob in three two-hour sessions over three days. Rob took the time at the start to work out what it was we wanted from the weekend, so that he could tailor the content to our needs. As relative beginners with a few lessons under our belts, we were looking for an all-round introduction to the skills of the game, and to improve our consistency. In the first session, we focused entirely on the set-up and stance, while in the second session, we covered chipping and putting. The third session was devoted to pitching and bunker play, with some work on the backswing.
I can say unequivocally that there has been a step-change in the quality and consistency of my game as a result of the time spent with Rob. He really showed us how to practice for consistency, breaking everything down into easy repeatable steps which you can practice at the driving range and on the putting green until they become second nature, and also explaining why the correct technique works.
We will certainly be back for more next summer. I'm looking forward to seeing what Rob has to offer at a more advanced level. I'm sure we won't be disappointed. Nigel Gray (beginner)
